FreightDeadbeats plagiarized by "Forwarders Debt Recovery Service"

Since 2002, FreightDeadbeats has been serving the transportation industry.  We have now become aware of a new "competitor" named the "Forwarders Debt Recovery Service" or FDR$.

Although we welcome fair and open competition, FDR$ is far from such.  They have blatantly modeled their company on FreightDeadbeats - even to the extent of copying whole sections of our website - (please click on the image at the left to compare the homepages of both websites).  The full scope of this blatant plagiarism (read: outright theft) makes one wonder who could be so arrogant and unethical to steal our copyrighted wording.

[Update June 24, 2009 - FDR$ have revised their index page.  The original can be found here]

A quick whois search reveals that FDR$ is registered to a Van Vliet, Peter peter@fdrs-ltd.com, Forwarders Debt Recovery Services Ltd, 3/F Jonsim Place, 228 Queens Road East, Hong Kong, 10310, China with a Thai telephone +66.27168505.  [Update June 24, 2009 - Additional investigation reveals that T.V.V. (Hong Kong) Limited was incorporated on January 11, 2007 and changed its name to Forwarders Debt Recovery Services, Limited on May 20 2009.  Further corporate and ownership details are being obtained from the authorities in both Hong Kong and Thailand.]

A further Google search reveals a Peter Van Vliet whose email is pvanvliet@wcafamily.com (see here) is listed as the "GM Coordinator"  on the contact pages of the World Cargo Alliance website.

Coincidentally, a solicitation was received on June 18, 2009 from the WCA with the subject of "FDRS a NEW debt collection services endorsed by the WCA Family". (Click to enlarge). Further stating that "our members will be better served if the debt collection services were handled by a professional third party".  The veracity of this statement and relationship between FDR$ and the WCA organization must therefore be questioned.

FreightDeadbeats has demanded that FDR$ take down their website and remove all stolen materials.

Further, FreightDeadbeats will be taking legal action in Hong Kong against this company to the full extent permitted by their laws.

There is an old English expression that "it take a thief to catch a thief".  If you subscribe to this concept and seek a thief to recover your debts, the FDR$ website can be located at fdrs-ltd.com  and Peter Van Vliet can be contacted by Email: info@fdrs-ltd.com, Phone: +66 89 811 6683 or via the WCA organization.
